Please note this important new information regarding "Minimum Satisfactory Progress Requirements" for all high school students who plan on participating in OSAA sanctioned sports and activities. The same requirements will be applied to all CHS club sports and activities as well.
The OSAA has further defined their Rule 8.1.2., "Satisfactory Progress Toward Graduation". In addition to the specific credit requirements, to be scholastically eligible, a student must also be making satisfactory progress towards the school's graduation requirements by earning a minimum of the quantity of credits indicated below for the specified year.
Credits to Graduate at CHS: 26.0
Credits per Year: 6.5
Minimum credits as a student enters next grade level:
Prior to Grade 10: 4.5
Prior to Grade 11: 10.0
Prior to Grade 12: 17.5
If a student is ineligible at the beginning of the school year due to having recorded too few credits to meet the standard, the period of ineligibility covers the entire school year.
If you have any questions, you may visit the OSAA website at osaa.org, or contact Dennis Burke, Associate Principal / Athletics at 503.263.7204 or burked@canby.k12.or.us
